Has your go-to park lost its "wow' factor? At the beginning of the summer my kids couldn't get enough of our neighborhood park but now they are itching to go to new parks. Lincoln boasts 125 parks! Why not try a few new ones? For the remainder of park weather (hopefully well into November) we'll have a weekly article about a different park for you and your kiddos to enjoy. This week we visited Pansing Park.

Area: Pansing park is located in South Lincoln and it is a neighborhood park.

Directions and Parking: Pansing Park is off of 53rd and Van Dorn. There is no parking lot; instead, we turn on 53rd and park at the end of the street on the corner of Pawnee St.

Playground: This playground is of average size. There are five swings, two regular, two baby and a tire swing. There is a merry-go-round and two ride-ons. The ground covering is black mat and rocky sand so bring your bag of sand toys and some chalk. There are some large trees near the playground but they do not cover the playground. They do cover a picnic table and two benches.

Bathrooms: There is no public restroom at Pansing Park.

Other: The playground is surrounded by grass by a lot of grass. You could easily have two three simultaneous soccer games here. It is not a good park to bring bikes or scooters. There is only one sidewalk and it goes from the street directly to the playground.

Overall: This park is quiet and it backs up to homes. When we go to Pansing there is usually one other family in attendance. I really like that there are benches and a picnic table right next to the playground. You could nurse a baby and still watch older children.
