Summer is here and with it, warm temps! How can you cool off? We love to go to the Trago Splash Park. Here are helpful tips to make your trip go smoothly.

Trago Splash Park is one of Lincoln's many great parks. During the non-summer months it is a regular park and during the summer it turns into a splash pad. The splash pad is turned on 11:00 AM-7:00 PM every day through Labor Day. This park has restrooms. Trago is located at N 22nd and U St.

1)Pack Sunscreen-While the park does have sun shades and trees surrounding it, it gets hot and is very bright, especially during the afternoon and early evening. Make sure to bring sunscreen.

2) Pack your lunch-There are several picnic tables, a covered shelter and plenty of grass and shade around the park and splash pad. You can play and have a picnic.

3) Wear your walking shoes-This is Lincoln's only free splash park and it is very popular. It becomes more crowded as the day goes on and parking is hard to come by close to the park. Bring a stroller, wagon or a backpack to load up all your belongings. The city recently re-surfaced the water area of the park to prevent falls and slips. Check the ground when you arrive for trash and glass.

4) Something for all kids-I love the splash park because it offers something for kids of all ages. My baby can hang out in the swing or play in the grass while my older ones climb, climb and climb one of the many structures at the park.

5) Trails-If you are really feeling adventurous, you can ride to Trago on your bike on one of Lincoln's trails. Click here for a map.
