Mini Road Trip: Omaha Children's Museum-Pirates & Mermaids

This heat has almost got me beat. We swim, we play indoors, we swim some more. Today, yet another scorcher, seemed like the perfect day to go to the Omaha Children's Museum to play in their "Pirates & Mermaids" exhibit. Going to the museum was one of the items on our summer bucket list and since school is starting soon, this seemed like a great day to go.

If you have time to get to OCM before "Pirates & Mermaids" leaves on September 4th, go! It is awesome. There is a megalodon swinging from the ceiling. Below it, kids climb on an ocean net and clamber up buoys. A pirate ship with rigged-up netting provides the perfect spot to shoot cannonballs at ancient sea creatures. They even have a mermaid!

There are also lots of smaller parts of the exhibit like a touch tank, fish tanks, ball pits and more.ย The exhibit encourages your children to move by climbing up pirate rigging and crawling across an ocean netting.
