After the craziness of the holidays and then the monetary brokeness of January, many couples really need a date night in February. Our February date nights are here to help your loved one and you find something new and fun to do together. What will you do?
- Night Lights is a fundraising event for Bright Lights that gives adults an evening to “be a kid again!” with fun, hands-on experiences like students enjoy each summer at Bright Lights. You can learn the finer points of cupcake decorating with experts from Rabbit Hole Bakery while you enjoy the perfect dessert wines from James Arthur Vineyards or join Pour Craft Beer and Spirits for an in-depth look at how whiskey is made, its history and how to serve it - plus experience how the taste of a whiskey changes when it’s mixed with different waters. It is Feb 29th from 6:00-9:00 PM and is $50/person.
- Valentine's Day Wine and Dine at Morrill Hall is on February 14th from 6:00-9:00 PM. You can check out the one-night only display of pieces featuring love across cultures from our Anthroplogy collection. These pieces have never been shared with the public before. This event includes dinner and it is $50/person.
- Chocolate Lover's Fantasy brings local chocolate Chefs together with chocolate connoisseurs, to raise money for the Historic Haymarket District’s non-profit organization. This event is on February 7 and is $35/person.
- Make Pottery-You know the scene is "Ghost" where they are making pottery? The LUX Center is having Adult Pottery Night on February 14th. This event is $30/person. You are guided through basics of working on the pottery wheel in this fun and messy workshop. Your creations will be ready for pick up 2 weeks after the workshop. Please come dressed ready to make a mess!
- Yoga-How about doing yoga together? (My husband and I could NEVER do this-just thinking about it make me uncomfortable.) Join Road to Om Yoga at their annual valentines couples yoga class, Enjoy a nice afternoon to connect with a partner with feel good poses and assists. We will serve beer, wine and snacks too. This event is on February 8th from 4:00-5:30 PM.
- Painting-Is painting more your thing? Corky Canvas has two date night canvases for the month of February. Your boo and you can test our your inner painter together!
- Sweetheart Walk-Come to Historic Downtown Ashland for the Sweetheart Walk, Saturday February 8th from 5-9p. Take a stroll down Silver Street to visit our galleries and shops.
- Anti Valentine's Party-Is Valentine's Day not your thing? Check out the Stupid Cupid Party at the Zeppelin Bar and Grill on Valentine's Day.
- Bird Watching-As part of the Great Backyard Bird Count weekend we are offering this special free guided bird walk on Valentine's Day! All are welcome, but we'll focus on bird mating behavior trivia along the walk and have chocolates for snacks at the end. Enjoy birding with your special someone at Spring Creek Prairie from 10:00 AM-11:30 AM.
Need a sitter for your date night? We love Kids Park which is drop-in child care (why didn't I think of this?) for kids aged 18 months to 12 years of age. Kids are separated by age group so your 2 year old will have a great time doing his thing while your 9 year old plays board games and does crafts. They are open 7 days a week and late on weekends.
