Creative Fun Summer and Spring Art Camps at LUX Center for the Arts

By Lindsey Clausen February 19, 2020

**COVID-19 UPDATE** We are proceeding with equal parts optimism and caution for 2020 summer camps. We have decided to preemptively take the step to decrease camp sizes to 8 participants max, so with the instructor and assistant we keep our numbers at or below 10 people in each classroom. For camp care we will not limit the amount of spots available but split up into two separate groups if we have more than 8 enrolled. We will also be staggering the snack times and use of shared spaces to allow for sanitizing between groups. Handwashing and sanitizing was always asked of students before snack time but we will now ask that students wash and/or sanitize upon arrival at camp, before snack, and before going home.

Immerse your child in creative fun at Lincoln's LUX Center for the Arts! Each day campers will explore new art techniques, work with real artists, and make their own artwork while learning and refining their own artistic abilities. LUX summer camps are led by our skilled teaching artists who will guide your child through hands-on learning in a fun and friendly environment.

Age Range: LUX camps are offered for kids ages 5-8, youth ages 9-12, and teen ages 13-16.

Dates/Days: Register for a morning session (9am-noon), lunch care (noon-2pm), and an afternoon session (2-5pm) during the same week to make it a full day camp. Before care is also available (8am-9am).

Clay/Sculpture/Metalsmithing camps cost $150 or $120 for LUX Members. 8-9am care costs $20 for the week and noon-2pm lunch care costs $40 for the week. LUX does not have a multi-child discount and does not prorate camps if your child has to miss a day.

Summer Art Camps:

There will be summer art camps M-F beginning June 1st and finishing August 7th

FRESH NEW PROJECTS
There will be many new lesson plans in 2020! Repeat campers will be working on fresh new projects. Certain tried and true foundational lessons will remain – you really can’t start a painting class without going over the color wheel!

GREAT TEACHERS RETURNING
We are also happy to announce that almost all our beloved teaching artists will be returning in 2020. Stay tuned for the release of the 2020 camp t-shirt design as well. It’s going to be another groovy get-up!
