Looking for a family activity that even your tween and teen will enjoy? Take them on Lincoln's Mural Hunt! (They can take hundreds, maybe even thousands, of photos of themselves in front of the murals.) We spent 1.5 hours driving and walking looking for murals. I hope they give you an afternoon or morning of fun!
We originally created this article 2.5 years ago and since then we have added more murals. Enjoy!

The artist, Wendy Bantam, worked with the community all summer to bring this project to life. It features plants and animals native to the world’s coffee growing regions, as well as plants and animals native to Nebraska. The mural is at The Coffee Roaster. |

There are ten murals in the area surrounding the LUX Center for the Arts. This is a great area to walk and find each mural. It is kind of like a treasure hunt! Click here for the full map. Below are pictures of three of the murals. |

The mural on Y St, on the building of Turbine Flats, is a Tesla mural. This mural is of Nikola Tesla, the Serbian immigrant inventor responsible for many technological innovations. |

This mural is behind Lutheran Family Services Building. This one spoke to me; it was my favorite. |

We all laughed when we saw that this building even painted their trash can! I would suggest parking close to this one and walking to find it since it is in an alley. This mural is next to the Cookie Company and we ended up taking a little break and enjoying a cookie. |

We parked near 7th and O and walked from there to find this mural. My daughters LOVED this alley! It is filled with fun, whimsical art for two blocks. If you are there at the right time you can even walk up and order ice cream from Ivanna Cone. |

From the 7th & O Alley we walked to Iron Horse Park to see the train mural. It isn't technically a mural but I added it because it is close enough for me! My family and I enjoy walking around the Haymarket. |

The energy of this mural made me smile! |
13th & E St | |||
As soon as I saw the mural at 13th & E St it brought me back to our time living in Arizona and celebrating Dia de Los Muertos. |

For this mural, it is a drive by and catch a quick look. It not easy to drive to and it is on the back of a building but you can see it from the road quite well. |
Get out with your kids and drive or walk around looking for murals. This article only includes some of the many works of art around our area and they cost nothing to see.
