I visited Crete for the first time recently, dropping one of my kids off at a camp at Doane University. Such a beautiful campus!
After dropping her off, I drove through town and saw an incredible lion drinking fountain at their city park and had to stop. This park is a mix of old school equipment (love it) and new equipment. They have a lovely fountain, a bandstand and lots of green space.
PARKING AND LOCATION

SPECIAL FEATURES & PLAYGROUND NOTES
- This park would be fun for all ages. There is so much equipment and I loved the mix of old and new equipment.
- There are lots of swings-including two baby swings.
- While there is shade with the beautiful old trees, a lot of the playground isn't shaded and the older equipment would be HOT so I'd recommend going on a cloudy day or avoiding the hot afternoon.
BATHROOMS & OTHER AMENITIES
- There are public restrooms on the south side of the city hall building
- There is a band stand
- There are benches throughout the park
- Lots of green space and a fountain
