Eureka! Summer Camp 2024

In their first and second summers, incoming 8th and 9th grade Eurekans attend a 4-week day-camp at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During the month of July, Eurekans are exposed to a variety of careers, ranging from Entomology, Engineering, and even Mechanics!

At camp, Eurekans participate in professor-led STEM-based activities that encourage hands-on learning and engagement. Our girls also get to participate in swimming lessons, yoga, zumba, and 4 external field trips! The best part? Over four weeks, Girls Inc. participants bond with a group of girls that they will continue to build relationships with for the next 5 years!

Is your child eligible for Eureka! Camp 2024? They might be if they:

  • Are currently in 7th grade
  • Have an interest in STEM
  • Are available July 8th – August 2nd, 2024 from 9am to 4:30pm for summer camp at UNL
  • Are available for one meeting per month during the school year
  • Are willing to commit to a 5-year program!

Internships and Beyond

After they move into their third and fourth summers, Eurekans participate in a 4-week paid internship with local businesses with the goal to gain real-world experience and network with the community. Eureka! programming continues throughout the school year to provide insight and resources that will make higher education and STEM careers possible.

In their Senior year, Eurekans focus on college and career readiness, including but not limited to: help finding scholarships, Girls Inc. sponsored college visits, help completing the FAFSA, and much more! After making it through all 5 years, Senior Eurekans also become eligible for exclusive scholarships that are only available to Girls Inc. members!
