Calling all adventurers! The 2024 Summer Reading Challenge is in full swing, and there's still time to join the fun! Running from Friday, May 24 to Wednesday, July 31, 2024, this year’s challenge is packed with exciting activities and fabulous rewards designed to keep your kids and families engaged and entertained all summer long.
Participating is easy and can be done in three convenient ways. You can register and log your reading online at our Beanstack site, use the paper booklet while still registering on Beanstack, or download the Beanstack Tracker app for a mobile experience.
Fantastic Rewards for All Ages
Everyone who signs up for the Summer Reading Challenge will receive a ticket to a Saltdogs baseball game, and a Lincoln City Pool pass good for one entry between June 1 and August 11. Completing the challenge is a breeze—just read for 10 hours, keep track of your reading time, complete eight of our 20 activities, and visit the Library four times. Once you've done that, amazing rewards await! All participants will receive coupons for a ticket to the Summer Reading Challenge Recognition
Night Saltdogs game, a free ice cream cone from Runza Restaurants, and discounts at various local businesses like HobbyTown and Francie and Finch Bookshop. Children, teens, and adults all have special additional rewards. Kids can look forward to treats like a free ride on the Z O and O Railroad at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, a free kid’s meal from Slim Chickens, and painting sessions at Paint Yourself Silly. Teens get their own set of goodies, including a free day pass at Mana Games and discounts at local favorites like Yogurtini and Elleinad Books. Adults aren’t left out either—they can enjoy perks like a free yoga class at Lincoln Yoga Center, discounts on books at A Nove Idea Bookstore, and special deals at Licorice International.
Exciting Prize Packages
This summer, you can earn tickets for logging your reading and activities, which you can use to enter drawings for various exciting prize packages. Whether you’re into games and food with "Haymarket Happy Time"; or prefer a "Create and Dine"; experience, there’s something for everyone. Each package offers fantastic value, with prizes from businesses like Mana Games, Muchachos, Picnic Hill Create, Butterfly Bakery, Prehistoric Putt, and Honest Abe’s.
Grand Prize Drawings
Everyone who completes the challenge will also be entered into the grand prize drawings. Three lucky winners will receive $250 vouchers for performances of their choice at the Lied Center for Performing Arts during the 2024-2025 season. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy top-notch entertainment right here in Lincoln.
