December 1:
Come, gather with hundreds of other voices in Lincoln's annual 'Community Sing: Handel's Messiah.' Conductor Jeremy Roberts, assisted by Tom Trenney on the magnificent Lied Organ, join eight professional soloists in leading the annual interactive event, truly a Lincoln holiday favorite. Admission is free. Bring your own score. If you don't have a score, one will be provided at no charge.
🎭Southwest's Silver Hawk Theatre presents A Christmas Carol
December 5-8:
On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by a series of ghosts, starting with his old business partner, Jacob Marley. The three
spirits which follow, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come, show Scrooge how his mean behavior has affected those around him. At the end of the story he is relieved to discover that there is still time for him to change and we see him transformed into a generous and kind- hearted human being.
🎄Lincoln Community Playhouse presents The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
December 6-8, 13-15:
The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world - so when they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. There's not supposed to be fighting or cigar-smoking in Bethlehem, and while these kids have never even heard the Christmas story, they definitely have rewrites! Soon everyone from the terrified pint-sized shepherds to the furious church ladies is calling for first-time director Grace to fire the Herdmans. But it's up to Grace and the Reverend to help their community see the Christmas story and the Herdman kids through new eyes in this buoyant musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic.

‘Tis the season! LSO’s annual celebration returns at a new time with one performance that’s guaranteed to sell out! Join guest conductor Lucas Waldin and tenor Drew Duncan for a concert full of holly, jolly, and more, including Sleigh Ride and O Holy Night. LSO and guests including the UNL Jazz Singers will bring beloved holiday songs to life, and audiences of all ages can celebrate the joy of the season.

❄️The Nutcracker at the Lied Center
December 14 and 15:
The Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company will present its 40th annual production of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, with Artistic Director, Shari True, at the Lied Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, December 14, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m. The Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company's Nutcracker highlights over 150 student dancers from Nebraska.
🎄Tuba Tuesday Concert at the Nebraska Capital Rotunda
December 17
The University of Nebraska Lincoln Tuba Euphonium Studio will perform holiday music in the 2nd Floor Rotunda of the Capitol on December 17 at noon.
🎺Holiday Horns at the Nebraska Capital Rotunda
December 18
The Husker Horn Choir will present the Holiday Horns concert is the 2nd Floor Rotunda of the Capitol on Wednesday December 18, 2024, at noon. During the French Horn concert the audience will be invited to sing carols as the horns play.
