Whether you're looking for a fun family outing or a romantic date night, ice skating is a great winter activity and a memorable holiday tradition. And for those of us who aren't coordinated enough to ice skate (I'm raising my hand right now) you can always cheer from the sidelines.

Following is a list of ice rinks, both indoor and outdoor, that we've found in the Lincoln area and within one hour of us. Always check the rink schedule-outdoor rinks have short seasons and many rinks will book out for private parties.

1) John Breslow Ice Hockey Center (indoor skating)
