Park of the Week: Mendoza

February 25, 2025

Mendoza Park is not your standard playground structure. The play structure is wide with lots of slides, ladders, bridges, monkey bars and different climbing obstacles and is great for older elementary and tweens as well as young kids. Next to the kids playground is an adult exercise area-everyone can be active!

  • 1/2 Basketball Court
  • Drinking Fountain
  • Picnic Tables
  • Playground Equipment
  • Open Shelter
  • Walking trail
  • Workout equipment

PARKING AND LOCATION

  • Located near 84th and Pine Lake
  • Parking can tricky. If you live near Mendoza Park, you can walk or bike one of the trails over to the park.
  • I'd suggest looking at the map for Mendoza Park and depending on the direction you are traveling, choose a convenient place to park and walk over.

SPECIAL FEATURES & PLAYGROUND NOTES

  • There are no trees surrounding the playground so this is not a good park in the middle of summer but great at most other times.
  • Along with the playground my kids like the wooded area/small creek next to the park
  • Go to the bathroom before going to the park, there are no restrooms
  • There is sand and rubber tile; bring your bucket and shovel!
  • Great trails running through this park
