What makes the Discovery Day Camp program unique is our collaboration between the education team and museum collection staff and researchers. Not only do campers get a behind the scenes look at specimens from our museum collections, but they also get opportunities to meet actual scientists in a variety of fields. The museum houses over a million specimens of vertebrate fossils and extensive collections in other areas of natural history including paleontology, zoology, geology, parasitology, and more.
At Morrill Hall we care about giving visitors positive experiences as they explore our museum. The same is true for campers that participate in our Discovery Day Camp program. Too often children can feel lost in the shuffle in massive groups during programs. We stick to a 1:10 instructor to camper ratio to give participants guidance, positive experiences, and build meaningful relationships. We also emphasize having fun while learning with a variety of games and activities.
Registration is live for all our Summer Discovery Day Camp programs. We look forward to having mammoth amounts of fun with your campers this spring and summer!
