Children need good nutrition all year long. When school is out during the summer months, many children no longer have access to even one nutritious meal each day.
Meal programs help to fill this gap. Thankfully, there are many summer meal programs available in our area.
Food Bank of Lincoln
All listed meal sites are open to the public. Free breakfast and lunch are available to any child ages 1-18. Meals must be consumed on site during designated meal times. All sites are in Lincoln and operate Monday-Friday.

LPS Summer Nutrition Programs for Kids

Lincoln Fresh
From March through November, the Lincoln Fresh produce truck travels to 15 sites in Lincoln, distributing fresh fruits and vegetables at each stop. All are welcome to visit the truck to select from a variety of produce items.

Foodnet
Foodnet is a group of volunteers from many different churches and other non-profit organizations trying to stop the waste of food and provide for those in need. They provide mostly perishable foods such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products, bread, etc.

Matt Talbot
Everyone is welcome and enjoy a hot prepared meal two times a day, every day of the year. Lunch is served from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm and dinner is served from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Food pantries are also available for those who do not have enough food at home.
