Raising kids is expensive (we are pretty sure that the majority of our income goes towards granola bars, milk and activity equipment). Lincoln has so many activities and events and many are FREE, including all of the events listed below. So, you can do a fun activity with your family and save a bit of money-just think of all the granola bars that you can buy! ;) Enjoy these long, summer days and cool nights.

Family Fun Night: Messy Art-Come prepared to get hands-on and make a mess-terpiece as we explore different artistic techniques and tools. Family Fun Nights feature crafts and activities for the whole family. July 1
Uncle Sam Jam-Lincoln-area residents are invited to the City’s free Uncle Sam Jam Independence Day Celebration. Live music and fireworks! July 3.
Discover Fly Fishing -Avid fly-fishing instructors will be set up nearby to teach the basics of fly tying, casting and more. July 9.
LNK Outdoor Movie Night: Big Hero 6-Get ready for an exciting night under the stars with a special screening of Big Hero 6. Calling all heroes! Come dressed as your favorite hero! Whether it’s a police officer, firefighter, or superhero, we want to see your best costume. The top hero look will win a fun prize! July 11
Prairie Pines Nature Rendezvous-Explore nature and experience multiple nature based activities in the arboretum and along Prairie Pines Nature Preserve trails. July 12
East Campus Discovery Days-It’s more than a farmer’s market. It’s more than a science day. Come for the hands-on, science focused fun. July 12
CenterPointe's Back to School Bash-This event includes live music by the The String Beans, games & fun activities, raffle prizes and giveaways, and a chance to learn about community resources. July 16
Around Town Storytime: Larsen Tractor Museum-Join us at the Larsen Tractor Museum for a farm-themed storytime. July 25
Cars & Coffee-We invite you to bring your specialty vehicle and help yourself to free coffee and admire some really cool cars like your own! July 26
Cops 'n Bobbers-Join Big Gumdrop Outdoors, the Lincoln Police Department, and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for Cops ‘n Bobbers—a free community event designed to bring families together through fishing, education, and meaningful connection. July 26
