The weather is warming up and many of our free events are outside in this gorgeous sunshine. We have activities to get you out in nature, and events in town, festivals and more.

📕Free Comic Book Day at Trade A Tape Comic Center- Come on down to Trade-A-Tape Comic Center on Free Comic Book Day and receive 14 FCBD comics for FREE. May 2

  Wild Adventures at Pioneers Park Nature Center-Spend a spring day outdoors during our annual Wild Adventures event, a free, family friendly celebration of nature, creativity, and discovery. May 2

 Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month Celebration 2026- There will be diverse performances, fun activities, cultural exhibitions, live music, service information, free health screenings, and more. May 2

  Pollinator Party Family Night- Families can explore pollinator-themed crafts and activities, and observe caterpillars in their chrysalis stage. If timing is right, we may even see butterflies emerge! May 6

  Super Bird Saturday- Join us for talks, nature crafts, bird outings, and possibly see live raptors. May 9

  Free Fishing Clinic- This will be a day full of learning, practicing, and of course fishing. Kids will learn essential skills & practice with their new gear! May 9

  Pixel Party - How to Train Your Dragon at Walt Library- Celebrate summer vacation with a family fun movie at the library! May 22

  Cooper Park Party-Join us for the annual Cooper Park Party! -Free hot dogs, cotton candy, and snow cones. Bring your own water bottle and there will be water refill stations. -DJ Charmel spinning tunes -Face painting and temporary tattoo station -Firetruck rig demonstration. May 30

  Wetland Bioblitz-Join Nebraska Game and Parks at Pioneers Park Nature Center as we explore the biodiversity of the wetlands and surrounding ecosystems. Biologists and environmental educators will lead sessions exploring different parts of the ecosystem. May 30
