Rotary Park and Bicentennial Fountain

27th St & Antelope ParkwayLincoln, NE

Area: This "park" (a beautiful rose garden) is located in central Lincoln.

Directions and Parking: The rose garden is located on 27th and Capitol Parkway. It is next to the zoo parking lot and across the street from the Sunken Gardens. The best place to park is the back of the zoo parking lot.

Playground: There is no playground. This park consists of rows and rows of roses, walking paths, statues, fountains, benches and Bicentennial Fountain.

Bathrooms: There is no public restroom at this park.

Other: Bicenntennial Fountain is north of Rotary Park and has water running during the summer months. We have often driven by and seen people wading in the fountain or simply cooling off their feet.

Overall:

I would suggest not going there around sunset as it is bright with very little shade and the reflection off the water is blinding. Any other time of day would be better. The only downside to this area is that it is right next to two very busy streets and it takes away some of the beauty of it; however, this is a lovely place for a picnic or a mini-break during the day. We spent an hour walking down the paths, smelling the roses and dipping our feet in the fountain. If you want to make an evening or afternoon of it, you can walk across the street to the Sunken Gardens and enjoy those as well.
