Our activities in the classroom center on our Creative Curriculum studies, such as “Buildings,” “Clothing,” “Trees”, “Balls,” and “Reduce, Re-use and Recycle.” We also focus on learning one letter of the alphabet per week with our Zoo-Phonics curriculum.  Class activities include:

  • Structured and unstructured play time
  • Art activities
  • Stories
  • Music and finger plays
  • Large motor activities (in gym or on playground)
  • Dramatic play
  • Language Arts
  • Math
  • Science
  • Nutritious snack each day
  • Chapel Chat

For teaching social-emotional skills, Westminster employs the Second Step curriculum.

Special family events, field trips, and guest speakers supplement regular classroom instruction. Our students also participate in two breakout classes; Art and STEAM.

We have a ratio of 1:8 staff to child ratio for all ages.  The state ratio is 1:12. What a unique opportunity to have not only qualified staff educating and caring for your children but substantial staff. Our class size is 24.

Business Review

Two of my children have gone to Westminster and we absolutely loved it! They went into kindergarten ready to learn after each spending two years there. They went in with the knowledge of their numbers and letters, basic math skills and could write their names. My kids adored the playground and I liked that if its really cold or really hot they use the gym. My daughters loved all the fun extra activities like walking to South Branch Library, watching movies in the movie theatre, or taking a walk through the neighborhood.

The teachers are so kind and the staff feel like friends at the end of your time there.
