Stransky Park

17th St & Harrison StLincoln, NE 68502 Google Map

Area: This park is easy to miss, it is on 17th & Harrison St, you can easily drive right by it so keep your eyes open.

Directions and Parking: You need to look at the signs when it comes to parking near this park. There is a small parking lot by the park and near street-side parking.

Playground: Stranksy Park has a small playground, see-saw, swings and grass. There are benches, a small covered shelter and lots of trees at Stransky.

Bathrooms: There are no public bathrooms.

Other: The water feature and the fence are the two reasons that I like this park. There are steps leading up to the "second story" of the feature and kids love to go up and down and up and down. This park is fenced. Yes, fenced! There are two gates out of theΒ  park but other than that it is completely fenced. Tip: You will need to watch kids (big and small) near the water feature. Kids love to climb on the boulders and it would be a long and painful fall if they slipped. In the summer, Stransky is home to one of Lincoln's outdoor music series.

Overall: The stairs, water feature and boulders are a magnet for children and I often hear our kids playing, "Pirates and hidden treasure." It isn't as relaxing a park for parents because you have to watch them closely around the water feature but it is fun to go somewhere different and see where their imagination takes them.
