Description
Families are invited to unplug and enjoy an evening of outdoor fun as the Nebraska Forest Service and partners host the return of Forest Festival Family Fun Night on Friday, September 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Horning State Farm Demonstration Forest in Plattsmouth. Admission ends at 7:30 p.m.
The event is free to attend, with no registration required. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities including:
•Tree climbing
•Hayrack rides
•Trail hikes
•Nature storytime and puppet shows
•Archery
•Inflatable axe-throwing
•Face painting
•Hands-on outdoor education activities
In addition, free hot dog meals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“This event is about creating opportunities for families to step away from screens and experience nature together,” said Benjamin Bohall, Public Information Officer with the Nebraska Forest Service. “The Horning State Farm Demonstration Forest is a beautiful setting, and Forest Festival Family Fun Night gives people of all ages a chance to explore, learn, and simply have fun outdoors.”
Forest Festival Family Fun Night is hosted by the Nebraska Forest Service and the Institute of Agricultural and Natural Resources.
