Top 10 Free Events in September

Fall is almost here! And with it some of our favorite autumn activities: football, foliage and farms. Lincoln has so many activities and events and many are FREE, including all of the events listed below. Enjoy the end of summer and the beginning of fall.

  Fishing for Younger Friends-This program is designed to get our early outdoorsy types into fishing. Children ages 3-5 years will learn the names of some common Nebraska fish, make a fish print and learn to cast by playing Backyard Bass. September 1 and 22.

🏈 Tailgate Storytime at Eiseley Library-We're kicking off our first storytime with a tailgate party! Put on your favorite Husker gear and join us for a family event. We will have a photo booth and crafts available before our storytime. September 5.

🎼Nebraska Bluegrass Concert-Come eat, drink & have fun! Tours of Nebraska Innovation Studio, the makerspace located at NIC, will be offered. September 6, 13 and 20.

 Forest Festival Family Fun Night-Join us for free, outdoor fun! Activities will include tree-climbing, inflatable axe throwing, archery, wildlife encounters, hayrack rides, kids' game, nature scavenger  hunts, and much more! September 8.

  Art in the Garden-Join us as up to 50 artists exhibit and sell their work in the beautiful Sunken Gardens. This year's theme is Magical Mystery Tour. Come for lots of fun, art, and flowers! September 9.

  Make Lincoln 2023-Get ready for a day filled with hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and exhibits showcasing the incredible talent and creativity in our city! September 9.

  Latino Festival-Celebrating Diversity Together! Let's enjoy Hispanic culture through Latin music, art, food and traditions. September 16.

  Streets Alive-The free annual movement festival is back, taking health, wellness, fitness, tasty food, music, art, and fun for all ages into the streets! Hosted again by the University Place neighborhood, the 1.7 mile traffic-free festival route includes a park area, walking trails, and playgrounds. September 24.

🎼Hub & Soul Music Series-Hub & Soul is a free community event designed for people of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate music, local food, and Lincoln’s parks. September 29

 Harvest Moon Festival-The event will include multi-ethnic cuisine, fun activities, cultural performances, traditional music, health consultations, and more. September 30.
