Fall is here. I love October-it is such a wonderful time to be outside. Lincoln has so many activities and events and many are FREE, including all of the events listed below. It was hard to make the list this month because there are so many great events (it could easily have been 50 events). Enjoy this month of cooler temps!

Mornings at the Museum-the Lincoln Children's Museum is opening its doors for free admission, inviting parents and their little ones to explore, learn, and play together without the usual rush. But that’s not all—visitors can also enjoy a free coffee bar. October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.
School's Out: Spooky Science at Bennett Martin-Explore hands-on experiments with a Halloween twist. At various stations, experiment with static electricity, chemical reactions and more. Things may get messy; dress accordingly. October 12.

Nebraska Men's Basketball Red/White Scrimmage-A new event has found an old home, as the Nebraska men’s basketball team will host a free Red/White scrimmage at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. October 13.
Prairie Pines presents Nature Scavenger Hunt-Keep your eyes open and discover the Prairie Pines Nature Preserve on an edible and medicinal plant scavenger hunt. Explore, discover and learn in the Preserve. October 19.
Tree-mendous Celebration-There will be children’s activities, a tree-climbing demonstration, and a tree-planting demonstration. October 24.
Reptiles of Nebraska-In celebration of October as Nebraska Reptile Month, Nebraska Game & Parks and the School of Natural Resources will be hosting a large-scale family-friendly reptile fun night! The first 200 families will take home a reptile swag bag as well! October 24.
